Coimbatore ‘The Manchester of South India’ is a district in the Kongu Nadu region of the state of Tamil Nadu. It is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu and situated at the foot hills of Nilgiris and on the banks of Noyyal River surrounded by the Western Ghats. It is known for its pleasant climate, peaceful atmosphere, cosmopolitan outlook and private enterprise.  The city is also known as Kovai and is one of the fastest growing cities in India. Cotton textiles electric motors, pumps, automobile spares, iron steel and aluminium castings form major exports from Coimbatore.
