Kanyakumari – where three oceans meet. It is a district in Tamil Nadu state situated on southern most region of state or even country. Formerly known as Cape Comorin and is second most urbanized next to Chennai and stands first in terms of literacy rate. The name Kanyakumari comes from temple, Devi Kanya Kumari Temple in the region. It has varied topography with sea on three sides and the mountains of the Western Ghats bordering northern side. The district is famous for majestic hills, virgin beaches, pristine rivers, and meandering rivulets. The district has a fragrance of architecture culture and customs of neighbouring Kerala mixed with the rich deep traditions, culture and architecture of Tamil Nadu.
